Pamela Monroe, LMT
Pamela Monroe, LMT
Pamela Monroe, LMT, has been in practice for over 30 years. She continues to love her work and finds deep fulfillment in helping others. Pamela attended massage school in Denver, Colorado, after working for several years as a cosmetologist. Her training was a 1,000-hour program with a strong focus on deep tissue and neuromuscular therapy, along with other modalities.
During this time, she met Dr. John Douillard in Boulder, Colorado, where she had a profound experience with marma therapy. Shortly thereafter, she began training in his clinic. Pamela went on to become the head panchakarma therapist and also trained other therapists at the clinic, as well as traveling to provide training. Her experiences with panchakarma have added great richness to both her professional practice and her personal life.
After moving to Portland, Oregon, Pamela continues to offer Ayurvedic therapies in addition to other massage modalities, including deep tissue, neuromuscular therapy, craniosacral therapy, and her newest passion, quantum light wave healing.
Please Note: Pamela Monroe, LMT is the only Licensed Massage Therapist of staff who provides services to those with active cancer.

Quantum Light Wave Healing is a subtle, energy-based modality that supports balance, clarity, and relaxation by working with the body’s natural energetic field. This gentle practice is based on the understanding that everything in the body carries information and vibration—and that harmonious frequencies and light can help the system return to a more coherent, balanced state. During a session, the practitioner works with intention, awareness, and light-touch or non-touch techniques to support the body’s innate self-regulating intelligence. Rather than focusing on symptoms, Quantum Light Wave Healing addresses the whole person, inviting the nervous system to settle and the energy body to reorganize in a way that feels supportive and restorative. Clients often describe sessions as calming, grounding, and deeply nurturing. Many report a greater sense of ease, emotional balance, mental clarity, and connection to themselves afterward. This modality can be a beautiful complement to other therapeutic or wellness practices, supporting overall well-being on physical, emotional, and energetic levels.

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle, hands-on approach that supports the body’s natural ability to heal and self-regulate. Using light, attentive touch, the practitioner listens to subtle rhythms within the body—particularly those related to the nervous system, fluids, and connective tissues. This quiet, non-invasive work helps the body shift out of stress and into a state of balance and ease. Rather than forcing change, biodynamic craniosacral therapy creates the conditions for healing to unfold organically. As the nervous system settles, the body can release long-held tension, patterns of strain, and the effects of stress or trauma. Many clients experience deep relaxation, a sense of spaciousness, and improved clarity, sleep, and overall well-being. This therapy is especially supportive for those dealing with chronic stress, headaches, pain, fatigue, anxiety, or recovery from injury. Sessions are typically experienced as deeply calming and restorative, allowing the body to reconnect with its own innate wisdom and resilience.

Silicone cupping offers a powerful complement to massage therapy, using gentle suction to lift and separate tissue layers, increase blood flow, and release deeply held tension. This modality is particularly effective for chronic pain, tight muscles, and areas that don't respond to pressure alone. Pamela integrates cupping seamlessly into therapeutic sessions. Experience the unique sensation and lasting relief that cupping provides.

Gua sha is a traditional East Asian healing practice that involves gently scraping the skin with a smooth-edged tool, usually made of stone like jade or rose quartz. The name comes from Chinese: “gua” means to scrape, and “sha” refers to the redness that can appear on the skin during the process.
There are two common ways gua sha is used:
Body gua sha (traditional use): Firm strokes are applied to the skin to help improve circulation, release muscle tension, and support the body’s natural healing.
Facial gua sha (modern skincare use): Much gentler strokes are used on the face to promote lymphatic drainage, reduce puffiness, relax facial muscles, and give the skin a refreshed appearance.
Gua sha is a great adjunct to cupping.
