integrative medicine
Lifestyle Medicine is a medical modality that uses the pillars of health - nutrition, mindful movement, sleep, stress management, and social support - to prevent and treat metabolic and other chronic diseases. Lifestyle Medicine is evidence-based, plant-forward, and always focused on treating the root causes of disease. Dr. Matt is board-certified in Lifestyle Medicine (DipABLM).

Integrative Medicine is a modern medical movement and modality that applies evidence-based criteria to clinical and care tools from many systems of practice to find therapeutic approaches that work for each individual. The systems that weave into Integrative Medicine include conventional allopathic medicine, osteopathic medicine, naturopathic medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda, and many more. Dr. Andrew Weil is one of the primary pioneers of Integrative Medicine, and Dr. Matt completed the 2-year Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine fellowship in 2019.

Integrative Medicine brings tools from non-conventional systems into mainstream practice, and introduces patients and care providers alike to systems and care modalities they may never have considered or encountered before.

I was first able to sustainably bring wholesome, personalized care tools to my patients in conventional, office-based practice because of skills and tricks I picked up during my fellowship training. If it wasn't for the fellowship and the inspiration I received from that, The Buddha's Medicine would never have come into being!
